    RIO DE JANEIRO (2009 FIBA Americas Championship) – Australia defeated Argentina 110-107 in double overtime to close day one of the Super 4 played at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

    Argentina won the first quarter 25-22 but a 20-3 run by the Australians gave them a 46-42 lead.

    The Argentineans recovered and stayed in the game to force the first overtime tied at 89. A free throw by Federico Kammerichs forced the second overtime tied at 98.

    Joe Ingles netted 25 points, Nathan Jawai 22 and Adam Gibson 17 for Australia who plays Brazil for the title.

    In the loss Paolo Quinteros had 18 puntos, Juan Pablo Figueroa 17, Federico Kammerichs 14 and Luis Scola 11.
