Draw Results in for FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2018

NONTHABURI (FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2018) - The draw for the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2018  was held on September 14, 2018 at Stadium29, Nonthaburi grouping the 8 participating teams into two groups.

Group A: Pauian Archiland (Chinese-Taipei), Liaoning Flying Leopards (China), SK Knights (Korea), Petrochimi (Iran)
Group B: Al-Riyadi (Lebanon), Alvark Tokyo (Japan), Meralco Bolts (Philippines), Mono Vampire Basketball Club (Thailand)

The defending champions Al-Riyadi are grouped with the hosts Mono Vampire as well as the Meralco Bolts from the Philippines and Alvark Tokyo from Japan. The Meralco Bolts replaced the San Miguel Beermen as representatives from the Philippines as previously announced.

Iranian powerhouse Petrochimi will be grouped with three local league champions Pauian Archiland (Chinese-Taipei), Liaoning Flying Leopards (China), and SK Knights (Korea).

As hosts, Mono Vampire Basketball Club were able to select their Group which they selected to be in Group B.

Mono Vampire Head Coach, Douglas Marty, explained that the selection to play in Group B factored from the teams forms in the past year's tournament as well as some basic information known about each team. Though he and the team acknowledges that each and every team in this competition are highly talented, he feels that Group B might be more favorable in terms of size.

The FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2018 will be held from 27 September to 2 October at Stadium29 in Nonthaburi, Thailand.
