    Darius Adams is Champions Cup MVP and leads All-Star Five

    CHENZHOU (FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2017) - China Kashgar star guard Darius Adams was named Most Valuable Player of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2017 and leads a star-studded All-Star Five.

    CHENZHOU (FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2017) - China Kashgar star guard Darius Adams was named Most Valuable Player of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2017 and leads a star-studded All-Star Five.

    Adams did not have his best game for China Kashgar in their Final loss to Al Riyadi today, but it was his tournament-long brilliance that netted for him the MVP plum offered by Tissot. Adams, who is the reigning CBA Finals MVP, averaged 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.9 steals per game and had a 23.4 efficiency rating - the highest among all guards.

    The 28-year-old was the biggest reason for China Kashgar’s return to the Final, bucking the absence of Andray Blatche throughout most of their campaign.

    As the MVP, Adams also makes it to the tournament’s All-Star Five, also offered by Tissot. Joining him are Chris Daniels and Quincy Douby of Al Riyadi, Arsalan Kazemi of Petrochimi and Justin Carter of BC Astana.

    Both Daniels and Douby came up huge in the Final as Al Riyadi soared to the title. Daniels recorded 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Douby added 17 points and 6 assists. Overall, Daniels normed 14.6 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, while Douby registered 20.4 points and 3.9 assists per contest.


     

    Kazemi, for his part, was also brilliant for Petrochimi. In seven games, the NBA draft pick averaged 9.6 points and 11.7 boards, proving to be a superbly efficient as the Iranians made it to the top four.

    American wingman Justin Carter tallied 20.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game while making 2.4 triples per contest for BC Astana, whose strong played pushed them to a podium finish.
