BANGKOK, Thailand (FIBA Asia U18 Championship for Women 2016)- The group stage of the FIBA Asia U18 Championship for Women concludes today, leading up to interesting semifinal games as well as exciting Level I qualifying games. Here’s all what you don’t want to miss on Gameday 5:
Kazakhstan vs Sri Lanka
Kazakhstan recorded their first win at FIBA Asia U18 Championship for Women 2016 yesterday, beating Singapore. They will be looking to do the same today when they face Sri Lanka, who are still searching for a win.
Singapore vs Hong Kong
With no chance of making the top two in Level II, both Singapore and Hong Kong will be playing for improving their record. Hong Kong (2-2) recorded two straight victories but suffered defeats at the hands of Indonesia and Malaysia after that. Singapore (1-3), meanwhile, will be trying to bow out with a 1-4 record.
Indonesia vs Malaysia
This game will determine the top team in Level II. Both Indonesia and Malaysia have impressed so far in this Championship, winning all of their four games so far. The winner from this game will face India in the Qualifying Round.
Korea vs Thailand...
With a 3-1 win record, Korea are determined to finish their group stage journey with a 4-1 record to assure the second position. On the other hand, hosts Thailand, who came out of a tough but well fought loss last night against Chinese Taipei, will still be looking for their second win in the championship.
India vs Japan...
India play the game with nothing more to lose. After failing to record any wins so far, the girls will be looking for at least one win in the group stage despite facing a very fast opponent, who will be looking for a 3rd win.
China vs Chinese Taipei...
China, who stands alone on top of the table will be looking ahead for finishing the group stage with a clean record, while Chinese Taipei will be hoping to get one over the fierce rivals.
