They are joined on the list by Wutipong Dasom. The 25-year-old is one of the most experienced players in this list despite being only 25-year-old. He represented Thailand in the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship in Manila but missed this year’s Stankovic Cup due to injury.
The preliminary roster also includes young candidate Suwichai Suwan as well as American raised half-Thais Moses Morgan and Frederick Lish.
Morgan and Lish both had impressive seasons in the TBL but one of them will make the final cut. Suwan, meanwhile, was in the Thailand team that played at the 2016 FIBA Asia U18 Championship in Tehran. He averaged over 7 points per game and was one of Thailand’s brightest stars in that tournament alongside Justin Bassey.
Thailand, making their first appearance in this tournament, are in Group D alongside East Asian giants Korea and Japan.
The top five teams in the FIBA Asia Challenge will earn for their respective sub-zones an extra berth in the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup (formerly the FIBA Asia Championship)
