    Argentina to host the FIBA U-18 Women's ​​Americas Championship

    MIAMI (United States) – The FIBA Americas regional office announced that Argentina will host the FIBA U-18 Women's ​​Americas Championship. The tournament will take place from June 13 to 19.

    MIAMI (United States) – The Americas Zone Executive Committee has decided to grant Argentina the FIBA U-18 Women's ​​Americas Championship. The tournament will take place from June 13 to 19 at the Obras Sanitarias Stadium in the city of Buenos Aires.

    The national teams of Brazil, Canada, Colombia, El Salvador, the United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the local team, Argentina, will fight for the four available spots in the FIBA ​​U-19 Women's Basketball World Cup in 2023.

    The South and Central American teams qualified to the continental tournament after the CentroBasket and South American Championships. The United States and Canada will be the representatives for North America.

    The last edition of the FIBA ​​U18 Women’s Americas Championship was held in Mexico City in 2018. The 2020 tournament could not be held due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

    The United States has won the last nine editions. Brazil joined the top of the podium in 1992 and 1996.
