BAHIA BLANCA (FIBA) - San Antonio Spurs' Argentinian star Manu Ginobili has signed an agreement with Buenos Aires governor Felipe Sola to build a sports centre in Bahia Blanca.

The Buenos Aires' government will contribute 50% of the money needed and the Ginobili Foundation, which is run by Manu's father Jorge, will provide the other 50%.

The signing allows the Manu foundation to look for new sponsors to finance the stadium which will have a capacity of 8,600.

"I'm happy as we have made great progress and we are closer," said Ginobili.

"When you play three quarters of a basketball game, it isn't enough, you want to define it. Now is the time to connect some of Bahia Blanca's businessmen and all together collect the rest of the money.

"This is something that the whole city needs. Obviously, nobody dreams of these things. That the governor thought of me to make a contribution to build this stadium is something that I never imagined. I hope I can be at the opening of it, with the national squad."
