BAMAKO (Afrobasket Women) - Angola's men missed out on direct qualification for the London Games when they lost to Tunisia in the Afrobasket title game in August, but the women still have a shot.

Taking on hosts Mali in the Semi-Finals at the Afrobasket Women on Saturday, the Angolans claimed a 56-51 win.

They will now take on Senegal in Sunday's title game with the winners to advance to London.

The Senegalese, who are the defending African champions, thrashed Nigeria, 89-67, in the other Semi-Final.

Mali, roared on by their home fans, led Angola by two points going into the last quarter but were outscored 18-11 the rest of the way.

Angola got 14 points from Sonia Guadalupe.

Senegal brushed aside Nigeria in their game, racing into a 47-27 half-time lead.

Astou Traore had 27 points to lead Senegal, who are aiming for their 11th African title.

Mali played at the Beijing Games after upsetting Senegal in the gold-medal game when they staged the event in Dakar.

Now their only chance of making it to London is to claim a spot at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

But first, they have to beat the Nigerians in Sunday's bronze-medal game to gain a place in those qualifiers.
