Andorra and France to host FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup Qualifiers 2017
MUNICH (FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup 2017) - Forty-five teams from 26 countries (men and women combined) will compete for a ticket for the third edition of the FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup.
MUNICH (FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup 2017) - Forty-five teams from 26 countries (men and women combined) will compete in two qualifiers in Escaldes-Engordany (Andorra) and Poitiers (France) for a ticket to the third edition of the FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup, which will be staged in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on 7-9 July.
The teams were allocated to the various qualifiers based on the world’s FIBA 3x3 Federation Ranking as follows:
France Qualifer (23-24 June)
Men: Serbia (1), Netherlands (6), Romania (7), Italy (11), France (12-host), Hungary (17), Switzerland (18), Turkey (21), Slovak Republic (26), Belgium (38), Croatia (40) and Denmark (72).
Women: France (3-host), Czech Republic (4), Ukraine (7), Spain (8), Russia (10), Poland (16), Belgium (21), Serbia (23), Israel (33), Austria (39), Latvia (42) and Ireland (43).
Andorra Qualifier (24-25 June)
Men: Slovenia (2), Poland (4), Russia (8), Ukraine (9), Germany (13), Andorra (14-host), Spain (19), Czech Republic (20), Georgia (29), Latvia (31), Israel (48) and Ireland (57).
Women: Hungary (2), Italy (5), Switzerland (6), Germany (9), Andorra (14-host), Slovak Republic (19), Romania (20), Estonia (29) and Turkey (30).
Six men's teams will qualify from Andorra and 5 from France. In the women's category, 5 teams will book their ticket to Amsterdam in Andorra and 6 in France.
Slovenia (men) and Hungary (women) were crowned European Champions in Bucharest, Romania, last year. Coincidentally, both teams had previously won the 2016 Andorra Qualifier.
The third edition of the 3x3 Europe Cup will be staged on the iconic Museumplein in the heart of Amsterdam.
