PARIS (France) - USA continued their dominance over the world by becoming champions for the 10th time after defeating France 67-66 in the Gold Medal Game of the Women's Olympic Basketball Tournament Paris 2024.

USA had to launch a comeback from down by as many as 10 points and maintain their composure in the clutch to extend their impressive win streak at the Olympic Games to 61 games. It is also their eighth consecutive gold medal.

A'ja Wilson was dominant from start to finish, recording 21 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 blocks, leading all players in each category. Kahleah Cooper also added clutch baskets down the stretch, totaling for 12 points for USA.

France can take pride in their effort towards winning their second silver medal, pushing USA to the brink. Gabby Williams finished the game with 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals while coming short of forcing the game into overtime.

It was a double celebration for Wilson who took the MVP honors for her outstanding performance throughout the entire competition.

Wilson was joined on the All-Star Five by USA teammate Breanna Stewart, Gabby Williams of France, Alanna Smith of Australia and Belgium's Emma Meesseman.
