MAPUTO (FIBA Africa Women's Champions Cup 2018) - Italee Lucas has been named MVP of the FIBA Africa Women's Champions Cup 2018 in Maputo, Mozambique.

Although Lucas's InterClube de Luanda lost 59-56 to hosts Ferroviario de Maputo in the Final on Sunday, her overall performances set her apart from others.

The American-Angolan point guard did a bit of everything to help InterClube in Sunday's Final finishing with 17 points and 7 rebounds in 36 minutes, but she returns home with a silver medal.

Earlier in the competition, Lucas had a performance for the ages, pouring a tournament-high 33 points to silence the home crowd as InterClube prevailed 77-70.

It was Lucas' second MVP award in the competition history after lifting InterClube to the continental crown in 2013 in Meknes, Morocco.

The 29-year-old finished the annual FIBA Africa's solo women's clubs competition with averages of 16 points per game.
