ABIDJAN (Cote d'Ivoire) - Yaounde has replaced Abidjan as the host city for the West Division Elite 16, FIBA Africa confirmed on Thursday.

The decision comes after Cote d'Ivoire Basketball Federation informed FIBA Africa of its unavailability to host the decisive qualifying phase for the Basketball Africa League (BAL) Season 4.

The West Division Elite 16 will take place from October 31 to November 5 at Palais Polyvalent des sports de Yaoundé in the Cameroonian capital city, and it will determine the three teams from the region to advance to the BAL Final Round.

Yaounde hosted Group B of the First Round of the Road to BAL between October 8-12.

The East Division Elite 16 will take place in Johannesburg in November.

As we write, teams qualified for the West Division Elite 16 include ABC Fighters (Cote d'Ivoire), Stade Malien (Mali), Seydou Legacy Athletique Club (SLAC) of Guinea, Al Ahly Benghazi (Libya) and FUS Rabat (Morocco). The eight-team West Division Elite 16 will be complete with the teams that finish in the top two places of Group B, plus a wildcard.
