JOHANNESBURG (South Africa) - Nine-time Ugandan champions City Oilers and their South African counterparts Cape Town Tigers have booked their places in the 2024 Basketball Africa League (BAL) season after winning their respective Semi-Final matches in the East Division Elite 16.
The third and final slot will be decided on Sunday 6 November when losing semifinalists Dynamo BBC of Burundi and COSPN of Madagascar clash.

Robinson Opong (City Oilers)
The Ugandan international was unstoppable as he dropped five threes for 15 of his game-high 17 points that led Oilers to a 72-61 win over Dynamo.
To add to his excellent shooting behind the arc, the 34-year-old added 8 rebounds and 2 assists to his tally.
Parrish Petty (City Oilers)
Despite going 0 for 5 in threes, the Oilers guard, who has played a crucial role in the team's qualification, scored 14 to finish tied on points with Titus Odeke, as the second-best scorer for the side.
His 6 rebounds and as many steals, while adding 4 assists made a huge difference in the side's victory.
Nkosinathi Sandile Sibanyoni (Cape Town Tigers)
A competition-high 21 rebounds (tied with FUS Rabat's Aliou Diarra v FAP), in just over 36 minutes on the floor, for the 25-year-old power forward, 14 points (4 coming from 5 free throws and the great on the paint),5 blocks and 2 assists, saw him finish with a 31 rating in efficiency as he guided his side to a 67-63 hard-fought win that qualified Tigers for the BAL.
Samuel 'Mike' Adewunmi (COSPN)
The Nigerian who had a quiet first half, managing a single basket in the two quarters, orchestrated COSPN's attempt at a comeback, scoring 16 in the second half as his side lost the match in the final minute of the clash, thanks to some costly turnovers.
He had 6 rebounds, one assist and a block for a 16 rating that put him as his side's best performer despite his slow start.
