BELGRADE (Adriatic League) - Union Olimpija completed their comeback against Red Star Belgrade in comprehensive fashion on Monday evening to storm into the Adriatic League Final Four.
After losing Game One 93-87, the Slovenia giants thrashed Red Star 88-60 in Game Two in Ljubljana and on Monday back at the Pionir in Belgrade, Aleksandar Dzikic’s team rolled to a 97-74 triumph.
The result means Olimpija will now take on Partizan Belgrade while Hemofarm are to face Zadar in the other semi.
Organizers are to announce on Wednesday where the Final Four is to be staged.
On Monday, Bosnia-Herzegovina international Jasmin Hukic and Ronell Taylor had 19 points apiece and Slovenia point guard Goran Dragic 18 for Olimpija, who held a 48-38 lead at half-time and then blew the game wide open in the third quarter.
Dzikic, who took over from Memi Becirovic in mid-season, said of Olimpija: "My team always plays well against quality adversaries but we can perform even better.”
