VRSAC (Adriatic League) - Hemofarm Vrsac are turning into the comeback kids.

They are 6-2 and in first place in the Adriatic League following an 86-85 win over Nymburk.

Trailing by 13 points at the end of the third quarter, Hemofarm battled back to win with Miljan Pavkovic's two free-throws at the death.

Pavkovic was one of the heroes of Hemofarm's come-from-behind Eurocup win at Besiktas last week.

Milan Macvan's 19 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals made him the Player of the Week in the Adriatic League.

Ronen Ginzburg, the Nymburk coach, said:  “This was a very good game. We played well in the first 30 minutes, but eventually we got tired. We knew that we had to play against a good team, so this ending is not surprising. When you summarize the whole match, you see that little things make the victory. We allowed them to get back into the game after being 13 points behind at the end of the third.”

Hemofarm boss Zeljko Lukajic said: “We have shown courage and desire after all the problems we had, and being behind the 13 points, to get back into the match.

“These are important points, we have remained unbeaten at home.”

Union Olimpija’s woeful display at Cedevita Zagreb drew the ire of their coach, Jure Zdovc.

He was spitting fire at his players during their 95-57 capitulation at Cedevita Zagreb.

One of the best teams in the Euroleague this season with four wins in five games, Olimpija showed no fight or determination in Croatia at the weekend.

"This is just confirmation of the character of some players," said Zdovc, whose team will play at Efes Pilsen this week in Europe

    "We deserved to lose."

Dontaye Draper had 28 points for Cedevita, who climbed above Olimpija into fourth place with the win though both sides have five wins in eight Adriatic League games.

Other Adriatic League Results: Buducnost 105 Zadar 92, Krka 79 Igokea 66, Cibona 88 Radnicki 82, Partizan 99 Red Star Belgrade 68 and Siroki 83 Zagreb 76.
