    51 players to take part in exciting TIME-OUT 2.0 project

    MUNICH (Germany) - The list of participants for the TIME-OUT 2.0 project has been confirmed by FIBA Europe with a total of 51 players representing 27 different National Federations.

    MUNICH (Germany) - The list of participants for the TIME-OUT 2.0 project has been confirmed by FIBA Europe with a total of 51 players representing 27 European National Federations.

    TIME-OUT 2.0 is co-funded by the EU's Erasmus+ Sport program and follows on from the successful TIME-OUT initiative which launched in 2017.

    Another high-caliber roll of honor has been assembled with a variety of championship titles between them, while a large number of players having dedicated several years of service to their national teams.

    Among the stand-out names are Ewelina Kobryn, Kim Mestdagh, Giorgia Sottana, Tugce Canitez and recently retired Greek legend Evina Maltsi, as well as FIBA EuroBasket 2003 champion Giedrius Gustas, Andreas Glyniadakis, Manuchar Markoishvilli, Axel Hervelle and current Czech Republic international Vojtech Hruban.

    Paraguay's Paola Ferrari and Geraldine Robert of Gabon are also invited to join the strong group of veteran European players through the partnership with the International Basketball Foundation.

    The 18-month educational program of TIME-OUT 2.0 is set to start with the first workshop in June 2020 and will provide opportunity for players to learn valuable skills in a specially designed FIBA-led Manager course.

    "These are important steps for the players to take in furthering their careers away from the court," FIBA Executive Director Europe Kamil Novak said. "I believe TIME-OUT 2.0 will be another success and look forward to following the journey."

    The project, which is co-funded by Erasmus+ Sport, aims to promote education in and through sport with a special focus on leadership and skills development. The program supports the implementation of the European Guidelines on Dual Careers of Athletes.

    Among the numerous partners of the project, FIBA Europe is organizing the TIME-OUT 2.0 project in partnership with UEFA, marking the first time they have teamed up with a non-football organization.

    Editor's Note: Sani Becirovic (Slovenia) was added to the list of TIME-OUT 2.0 participants after the publication of the article, bringing the total number of participants to 52.
