MIES (Switzerland) - One gameday starting with Galatasaray hosting Unicaja and finishing with Reggiana taking on BAXI Manresa can't disappoint. Imagine adding two more games in between.
That's what this Wednesday's menu is all about.
And don't worry: we have you covered with six things to know about each of these four matchups.
Galatasaray (1-1) vs. Unicaja (2-0) - Group J, 18:00 CET
Galatasaray and Unicaja will face for the third time in the BCL and the current record in this fixture is perfectly balanced, with each team winning its home game in the Round of 16 2022-23 by a margin of exactly five points.
Galatasaray have won their last three home games in the BCL and will attempt to win four in a row for the first time; they have scored 90+ points in each of their last three home games played in the Round of 16.
Unicaja have won their last 18 games in the BCL, the longest winning run for a team in the competition history, with each of the most recent seven ending with an average margin of 25.9 points; they won by a 52-point margin the last game they played in Türkiye (108-56 vs Aliaga Petkimspor), their biggest win in the competition.
Unicaja have scored on average 25.0 points in the first quarter of their games in the BCL this season, more than any other team. However, Galatasaray have conceded the fewest points on average in that quarter among all teams this season (16.5).
Tyson Carter (Unicaja) has scored 15+ points in four of his last six BCL games, as often as in his previous 28 appearances, and has scored 4+ three-pointers in three of his last four games after never reaching that total in any of his first 38 appearances.
Very few teams have a brighter mood than Unicaja after the break, as they once again defied the odds by capturing another Copa del Rey and even beat BAXI Manresa in the Liga Endesa with a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds by Kameron Taylor. Galatasaray, instead, are returning to BCL action after losing to Fenerbahce in the Turkish Cup and to Merkezefendi in the domestic league, eager to get back to winning ways.
Falco-Vulcano Szombathely (0-2) vs. UCAM Murcia (1-1) - Group L, 18:00 CET
Falco-Vulcano Szombathely and UCAM Murcia have faced each other twice in the BCL, with each team winning its home game during the 2022-23 Regular Season.
Szombathely have only won one of their eight BCL games played in the Round of 16 (86-81 vs Rytas Vilnius in March 2022); both teams managed to score 80+ points in four of Szombathely's eight previous games in the Round of 16.
Murcia lost their last BCL game (70-85 at Nymburk), ending a run of six wins in the competition; they have lost six of their last eight games played away from home in the Round of 16, including each of the most recent three, but five of the last six ended with a margin of five points or fewer.
Szombathely have won 74.7 percent of the rebounds disputed under their defensive basket, the highest rebounding percentage of any team in the BCL in 2024-25; the Hungarian side have grabbed 26.9 defensive rebounds per game, the third highest average in the league this season.
Zoltan Perl (Szombathely) has averaged 22.5 points in his last eight home games in the BCL, scoring 20+ points in six of those games; he averaged 24.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 7.0 assists in his previous two games against UCAM Murcia.
Things never change for Szombathely in Hungary - where the cup hasn't been played yet - as they extended their winning streak to 20 games after beating Soproni 100-82; Murcia are also returning to BCL duties with confidence after a win, 88-82 on the road in Granada.
Rytas Vilnius (1-1) vs. Manisa Basket (0-2) - Group J, 18:30 CET
Rytas have won their four home games in the BCL 2024-25, including three by margins of 20+ points, but are yet to win more home games in a row in the competition; they have scored 90+ points in six of their last nine home games in the BCL.
Manisa Basket have lost their first two games in this Round of 16 but have never lost three games in a row in the BCL; they are one of three teams to have conceded 90+ points in at least 50 percent of their games in the BCL this season (5-of-10) and they are the only one of those teams still in the competition.
Rytas have scored 17 points per game off second-chance situations, the most of any team in the BCL this season; they have grabbed 42.1 rebounds per game, a joint-high in the league in 2024-25 alongside ERA Nymburk.
Manisa have drawn more fouls per game than any other team in the BCL this season (23.9) and have scored almost 30 more free throws than any other side in the current campaign (205 FTM; 176 made free throws by Szombathely).
Fabian White Jr (Manisa) has averaged 20.5 points in his last four BCL games after averaging 9.2 points in his first six appearances: he has also grabbed 7+ rebounds in each of his last three games after never reaching those tallies in his first seven.
Rytas weren't contending for the King Mindaugas Cup and got some well-deserved rest, coming back with a tight 99-98 win against Nevezis over the weekend; as Hugo Besson (27 points) and Jo Lual-Acuil (24 points and 15 rebounds) took over, Manisa beat Mersin in overtime in Türkiye.
Pallacanestro Reggiana (1-1) vs. BAXI Manresa (1-1) - Group K, 20:00 CET
Pallacanestro Reggiana have won three of their last four games in the BCL, despite trailing at halftime in each of those four games; they have also won three of their last four home games but are yet to score 80+ points in a game at home in the competition.
Manresa have won their last two road games in the BCL, each by margins of exactly 11 points, after losing the previous five; they have lost their last four non-Regular Season games away from home in the BCL, conceding 84+ points on each occasion.
Manresa have scored 22 points per game from turnovers, the highest average of any team in the BCL in 2024-25; they also have the highest offensive rebounding ratio, grabbing 40.7 percent of the rebounds on their offensive basket.
Cassius Winston (Reggiana) has made 6.3 assists per game in the BCL this season, the most among the players still in the competition; he has averaged 22.3 points and 8.3 assists per game in each of his last three home games in the BCL.
Derrick Alston has scored more than 15 points in six of his eight BCL games, with Manresa’s only two defeats this season happening in the two games in which Alston scored fewer than 15 points; however, the only time he scored fewer than 10 points was in Italy (4pts in Derthona in Gameday 2). He has scored multiple three-pointers in five of his eight games in the competition.
As previously mentioned, Manresa lost to Unicaja during the weekend despite Derrick Alston's 19 points; Reggiana, after losing to Trento in the Italian Cup Quarter-Finals, continue to fight for a spot in the LBA Playoffs by getting their fourth straight domestic win - this time they beat Sassari 84-58.
