    2024 NBA Mock Draft, FIBA flavour: Part III

    The 2024 NBA Draft will take place on June 26 and 27. Here is a mock draft and a special look at the FIBA experience the players have.

    MIES (Switzerland) - The 2024 NBA Draft is right around the corner and there will certainly be a massive FIBA influence among the 58 picks, with about half of the expected candidates having played in international competitions or a Basketball Without Borders camp.

    The NBA is becoming more and more global and international prospects are showing they can ball - something NBA franchises are not avoiding. We looked at all the mock drafts out there and came up with our own list - focusing on the players' participation in FIBA events.

    This is the third installment with picks 16-30. The final article with picks 1-15 will be published in the coming days.

    #30 Baylor Scheierman - USA

    Scheierman played three seasons at South Dakota State University and then two more years at Creighton University. The 23-year-old was named to the First Team All-Big East Conference in 2024. He has not played in a FIBA competition.

    #29 Johnny Furphy - Australia

    Furphy played last season at the University of Kansas and was named to the Big 12 Conference All-Freshman Team in 2024. He missed a chance to play at the FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2022 when Australia withdrew from the competition.

    He was listed on Australia's 22-man preliminary roster for the 2024 Olympics but did not make the cut to 17.

    Holmes played three seasons at the University of Dayton and was named as the co-Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Year in 2024. The 21-year-old forward has not played in a FIBA competition.

    #27 Pacome Dadiet - France

    Dadiet has played with ratiopharm Ulm in Germany since January 23 after leaving his native France. The 18-year-old played all season for Ulm in the German top flight this past season. The wing has a lot of FIBA experience.

    He played at the FIBA U16 European Challengers 2021 and then helped France take third place at the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2022. Dadiet also participated in the Basketball Without Borders European camp in 2022 and the BWB Global camp in 2023.

    #26 Terrence Shannon - USA

    Shannon spent three seasons at Texas Tech University and then played the last two years with University of Illinois. He was twice named to the coaches' First-Team All-Big Ten Conference. The 23-year-old has not played in a FIBA competition.

    After two years at Texas Tech University, Tyson played this past season with University of California-Berkeley and was named to the First Team All-Pac 12 Conference. The 21-year-old has not played in a FIBA competition.

    #24 Kel'el Ware - USA

    Ware played one season at University of Oregon and then starred in 2023-24 at University of Indiana, being selected for the Big Ten All-Defensive Team in 2024. The 20-year-old shined at the FIBA U18 AmeriCup 2022 where he named to the All-Star Five.

    He also played that year at the 2022 Nike Hoop Summit. Ware was in the training camp for the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2023 but was not among the final team.

    #23 Tyler Kolek - USA

    After one season with George Mason University, Kolek has played the last three years with Marquette University. He was the Big East Conference Player of the Year in 2023 and two time First Team All-Big East. Kolek also led all of NCAA basketball in assists in 2023-24. The 23-year-old has not played in a FIBA competition.

    #22 Rob Dillingham - USA

    Dillingham came off the bench this season at University of Kentucky and was named as the Southeastern Conference Sixth Man of the Year and to the Second-Team All-SEC.

    The 19-year-old starred for USA Basketball at the FIBA U16 AmeriCup 2021 helping the country to the title as the third-highest scorer in the competition.

    #21 Cam Christie - USA

    Christie played one season with the University of Minnesota and was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team in 2024. The 18-year-old Christie, the younger brother of Los Angeles Lakers guard Max Christie, has not played in a FIBA competition.

    Carrington played one year at the University of Pittsburgh and was named to the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Rookie Team 2024. The 18-year-old has not played in a FIBA competition.

    #19 KyShawn George - Switzerland

    George played this past season at the University of Miami after arriving in the United States in 2023. The Switzerland native moved to France in 2019 and played in the Elan Chalon youth ranks and helped the club earn promotion to the ProA top flight in 2023.

    George played for Switzerland at the FIBA U16 EuroBasket 2019, Division B.

    #18 Yves Missi - Cameroon

    Missi starred in his first season at Baylor University, being named to the Big 12 Conference All-Defensive Team and Big 12 All-Freshman Team in 2024. Missi was born in Belgium but grew up in Cameroon before heading to the United States in 2021.

    The 20-year-old has yet to play internationally though he was included on Cameroon's preliminary roster for the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament 2024. Missi played at the 2023 Nike Hoop Summit.

    #17 Isaiah Collier - USA

    Collier starred in his one season at the University of Southern California and was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team in 2024. He was named as the Naismith Prep Player of the Year in 2023, when he also participated in the 2023 Nike Hoop Summit. The 19-year-old has not played in a FIBA competition.

    #16 Zach Edey - Canada

    Edey was one of the greatest players in college basketball over the past two seasons - years three and four at Purdue University - and the Canadian was named the national college Player of the Year in 2023 and 2024, twice being a Consensus First-Team All-American. The center led NCAA college basketball in scoring in 2024 and was named to the Big Ten Conference All-Defensive Team in 2023 and 2024.

    The 22-year-old Edey participated in the Basketball Without Borders Americas camp in 2019 and then starred at the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2021. He played in three games in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Americas Qualifiers and then helped Canada grab third place at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.
