BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office-Asia on Thursday, March 27, has confirmed the schedule of the 2024/2025 FIBA WASL-Gulf League Final.
Game 1 of the best-of-3 title series between Shabab Al Ahli and Ittihad Club is set on April 8, Tuesday, at the Sheikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Sports Hall in Dubai.
Tip-off is at 19:00 local time, with both teams looking to become the Sub-Zone League's second winner after erstwhile reigning two-time champions Kuwait Club got eliminated in the Qualification to Semi-Finals.
Kuwait Club got swept by Ittihad, who then went on to complete a reverse sweep of Group B's top team Al Qadsia SC in the best-of-3 Semi-Finals last March 25 to forge a duel with league pioneer Shabab Al Ahli.
Shabab Al Ahli were the first to reach the Final by sweeping Manama in the Semi-Finals, making sure not to waste the direct ticket they punched toward the latter which they earned by finishing as the no. 1 team in Group A.
Manama will look to qualify for the FIBA WASL Final 8 instead as they are bound to face Qadsia in the Third-Place Game on Monday, April 8, at the Shaikh Saad Alabdullah Sport Hall Complex in Kuwait City.
Game is set at 19:00 local time, with the winning side joining Shabab Al Ahli and Ittihad as the Gulf League's representatives to the pan-regional competition's culminating event scheduled to be held in May.
