    Press Release

PRAGUE (European Youth Championship Draws) - The draws of 14 of Europe's 16 2017 youth championships took place in the Czech capital of Prague on Saturday morning.

PRAGUE, Czech Republic (European Youth Championship Draws) - The draws of 14 of Europe's 16 2017 youth championships took place in the Czech capital of Prague on Saturday morning.

The draws followed on from Friday's FIBA EuroBasket Women 2017 Draw in the city's Old Town Hall.

Due to the postponement of the FIBA U18 European Championship Division A 2016 from the end of July to mid-December, the draws for the U18 men's Division A and B 2017 events were also subsequently postponed and will now take place in FIBA's Munich office in January.

2017 will see a record of 254 teams compete during the summer, up two from this year, with all of FIBA Europe's member federations represented.

Next year will be a particularly historical one for Ireland who are set to organise their first-ever FIBA tournament, when they host the FIBA U18 Women's European Championship Division B 2017 from 4-13 August.
