Lauren Jackson will play at her fifth edition in Paris

Australia have chosen some massively experienced players, but also some exciting young guns

MELBOURNE (Australia) - The Opals will be heading to the Women's Olympic Basketball Tournament Paris 2024 full of hope they can climb onto the podium after naming a strong final roster for the showpiece event.

The lineup includes an Australian sporting legend in the shape of Lauren Jackson who will join an exclusive and small club of athletes to play at five editions of the Games.

The forward will return to the Olympics some 12 years after having the honor of being Australian flag bearer in her last appearance at London 2012. Alongside her in the paint and forming a formidable veteran frontcourt will be Cayla George and Marianna Tolo, who will both play at their third Olympic Games.

There will also be a lot of excitement around Ezi Magbegor who should be a centerpiece of the team's challenge and she will rack up her second edition along with Tess Madgen, Rebecca Allen, Alanna Smith and Steph Talbot.

Four Opals' ballers will all be making their Olympic debuts in the shape of Kristy Wallace, Sami Whitcomb, Jade Melbourne and finally Isobel Borlase, who has been sensational during the preparation period so far.

Australia will play in Group B against host-nation France, Canada and Nigeria.
