Meng Li is back after and injury

The China national team leader is one of the headline names getting ready to step out at this year's Games.

PARIS (France) - China have been boosted by the hugely influential Meng Li being named on their final list for the Women's Olympic Basketball Tournament Paris 2024.

A standout leader for her nation for many years, the winger had sustained a worrying injury that had cast doubts on her ability to compete in the competition.

She has missed much of China's extensive preparation, but is now back in the mix and ready to use her experience and quality as her country bids to make a push for the podium in the French capital.

Xu Han will be the go-to player for China

Xu Han will likely continue as the centerpiece of the team. She was superb as MVP of the FIBA Women's Asia Cup 2023 and is now renowned as one of the best players in the world.

Similarly, her frontcourt partner Yueri Li will be expected to deliver some big performances when the action gets underway and is capable of having a huge impact on the tournament.

Forward Sijing Huang is a threat for China

The other major threat could come from Sijing Huang, who has posted some stellar contributions in big games and is a huge threat because of her extended shooting range.

In the backcourt, Yuan Li and Liwei Yang will bring an intensity, while fellow guard Siyu Wang impressed at the FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Xi'An earlier this year.

China will play against Puerto Rico, Serbia and Spain in Group A.
