MEDELLIN (Colombia) – Reigning champion Indeportes Antioquia (COL) and Bay Area Phoenix (USA) each secured their second consecutive wins in Group B, clinching their spots in the Final Four of the Women’s Basketball League Americas. Both teams now join Unión Florida (ARG) and Sportiva Italiana (CHI), the two best teams from Group A.

Indeportes and Bay Area will face each other on Sunday, in the group’s final game day, to determine first place in Group B and the semifinal pairings. Saturday's results at the Iván de Bedout Coliseum in Medellín, Colombia, were as follows:

    Phoenix hold off Salvadoreñas

Rebecca Harris scored 28 points, including 6 three-pointers, while Aliyah Collier added 22 points and 7 rebounds, leading Bay Area Phoenix (2-0) to their second Group B win with a 90-82 victory over Salvadoreñas (0-2).

The American team managed to hold off a strong comeback by their opponents, who closed the gap after being down 61-41 midway through the third quarter. Salvadoreñas cut the lead to 4 points (78-74) with 4:16 left to play, but Phoenix finished strong thanks to the veteran leadership of 13-season WNBA player Danielle Robinson and point guard Ameela Li. Robinson drove to the basket in the final moments, earning crucial points from the free-throw line and dishing out assists. One of her key plays was a pass to the corner, allowing Li to sink an open three-pointer, pushing the lead to 88-76 with just 1:22 left on the clock. Robinson finished with 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Li contributed 10 points.

Despite showing resilience and closing the gap, Salvadoreñas were undone by turnovers for the second consecutive day, with 19 in total (13 of which were Phoenix steals). They were outscored 20-9 in points off turnovers. Cuban players Anisleidy Galindo (23 points, 10 rebounds) and María Montero (21 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds) were the standouts for Salvadoreñas. Brandi Harvey-Carr and Rachel Contreras (8 rebounds) added 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Muñoz leads Indeportes to victory over Pioneras

Experienced shooting guard Jenifer Muñoz once again led the charge for Indeportes Antioquia (2-0), scoring 21 points (including 4 three-pointers), while also grabbing 9 rebounds and recording 3 steals. Her efforts propelled the reigning champions to their second Group B victory, defeating the Mexican team Pioneras de Delicias 70-57. The Colombian team built a 9-point lead (40-31) by halftime, largely through their defensive efforts and Muñoz’s sharpshooting, and held on to their lead for the remainder of the game.

Defense played a key role for Indeportes, with 7 blocks and 11 steals, helping them dominate in points off turnovers (17-7) and fast-break points (13-2). Muñoz also scored 8 points in the final quarter to ensure the victory. Backup point guard Mayra Caicedo added 10 points, including two three-pointers, while Daihana Murillo contributed 9 points and 5 rebounds. Yuliany Paz (9 rebounds, 4 blocks) and Valentina López chipped in with 8 points each. For Pioneras, Argentina’s Camila Suárez carried the offensive load, scoring 27 points with 5 three-pointers.
