LILLE (France) - Two of France's biggest stars are also defensive stalwarts and both Rudy Gobert and Nicolas Batum moved up on the Olympics' all-time leaderboard in the team's overtime victory over Japan at the 2024 Paris Games.
Gobert batted away two shots in France's 94-90 overtime win over Japan and jumped to 22 in his third Olympics, pulling ahead of Andres Nocioni of Argentina and China's Yi Jianlian for fourth place.
Batum, who is playing in his fourth Olympics, swatted two shots as well, giving him 19 blocks for his career. That tied him with Australian legend Andrew Bogut for seventh place.
