    Amber Melgoza leads All-Star Five as tournament MVP

    Melgoza joined by two members of Norway's title-winning roster.

    PRISTINA (Kosovo) – Amber Melgoza may have lost in the final at the FIBA Women’s European Championship for Small Countries 2024, but she took home the Most Valuable Player award after a strong showing in the tournament.

    Melgoza led the competition in scoring with 19.6 points per game, recorded four double-doubles and did so while being second in efficiency.

    One of her double-doubles came in the Final, where she put up 16 points and 12 rebounds in Malta’s defeat to Norway 61-54.

    She was joined by two members of champions Norway, in the All-Star Five. Aurora Sorbye was her nation’s highest scorer, contributing 14 points in the tight Final contest to will her nation to their first gold.

    Also crucial for Norway, and in the All-Star Five, was Tori Halvorsen who averaged 10.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game across the tournament.

    Third places finishers Albania are represented by Ornela Lalaj in the All-Star Five, who placed fourth in efficiency and fifth and rebounding while leading her nation in scoring.

    Rounding out the All-Star Five lineup was Cyprus’ Marissa Pangalos, who averaged an impressive 17.2 points per game - including an impressive 27-point outing in her opening game against Albania. The guard was also fifth in assists per game.
