    Seeds confirmed for FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 draw

    Teams will learn their opponents for FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 on March 8

    The draw will take place at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in Athens, Greece.

    MUNICH (Germany) - The seeds are now set for the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 draw on Saturday, March 8.

    The 16 participating teams have been split with four teams in each seed, following the latest update in the FIBA Women's World Ranking, presented by NIKE.

    The seedings are as follows:

    Seed 1: France, Spain, Belgium, Serbia Seed 2: Germany, Italy, Türkiye, Czechia Seed 3: Montenegro, Great Britain, Greece, Slovenia Seed 4: Sweden, Portugal, Lithuania, Switzerland

    Reigning champions Belgium are amongst the top seeds with France, who last won the title in 2009, as well as four-time champions Spain and Serbia, who were triumphant in 2015 and 2021.

    There are four new teams in the lineup for FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 compared to the 2023 edition of the event, headlined by Portugal, who will be stepping out at the Final Round for the very first time. Meanwhile, Lithuania, Sweden and Switzerland - who make their first appearance since 1956 - are returning to the big stage after a period on the sidelines.

    The draw ceremony will take place at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in Athens, Greece on March 8 at 19:00 CET and will be livestreamed on YouTube.

    The co-hosts have already been pre-assigned for the draw with Greece in Group A, Italy in Group B, Czechia in Group C and Germany in Group D.

    FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 marks the 40th edition of the competition, and will run from June 18-29 with the Group Phase held in the cities of Brno, Czechia, Bologna, Italy, Hamburg, Germany and Piraeus, Greece, which will also be the home of the Final Phase.
