    Inaugural Women's Basketball League Asia schedule confirmed

    BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office - Asia has confirmed the schedule for the Women's Basketball League Asia (WBL Asia) on Saturday, September 7.

    The inaugural edition of the competition will be played in Chengdu, Chian from September 26-28.

    The competition tips off on September 26 with WJBL champions Fujitsu Red Wave facing WSBL Champion Cathay Life at 16:00 (GMT +8). This will be followed by the host's first game when WCBA champions Sichuan Yuanda face Indonesia's Surabaya Fever at 19:00 (GMT +8).

    The Fever will have a quick turnaround on September 27 to face the Red Wave of Japan at 16:00 (GMT +8). Sichuan Yuanda will then play against Cathay Pacific at 19:00 (GMT +8).

    The final day of the competition on September 28 will start with Cathay Pacific against the Surabaya Fever at 16:00 (GMT +8) and will wrap up with a heavyweight clash as the home team Sichuan Yuanda go up against the Fujitsu Red Wave.

    The team with the best record in the Final Standings will win the inaugural edition of FIBA WBL Asia.

    After crowning one champion among four teams this season, WBL Asia will expand to include six teams. In addition to the four aforementioned teams, two additional spots will be determined through qualifying tournaments featuring clubs from across Asia.
