Shenzhen (China) – The groupings and game schedule for the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup 2025 Division A competition, scheduled to be held in Shenzhen from July 13-20, 2025 have been confirmed by FIBA Regional Office - Asia.
Hosts and defending champions China are drawn alongside 12-time titlists Korea, Women’s Asia Cup 2023 semifinalists New Zealand and Women’s Asia Cup 2023 Division B winners Indonesia, in Group A in the battle for honors in FIBA Asia’s flagship women’s basketball competition.
Group B will see six-time former champions Japan being challenged by three teams who all are aiming for a maiden title in three-time Women’s Asia Cup bronze medallists Australia, South East Asia’s Philippines and West Asia’s Lebanon, thus also making this group most representative of teams from various FIBA Asia sub-zones.
The groups were drawn based upon the rankings of the teams in the Women’s Asia Cup 2023.
China begin their campaign for a record 13th title with a game against Indonesia on the opening day before going on to play Korea and New Zealand.
Japan, who lost a five-title winning streak at the previous edition begin their quest to regain the top status with a game against Lebanon followed by games against Philippines and Australia.
Shenzhen will also host the competition in FIBA Women’s Asia Cup 2025 Division B, the details of which will be shared soon.
