GDYNIA (Poland) - The Final of the FIBA U20 EuroBasket 2024 is set and the reigning champions France have a chance to defend their crown with a showdown against Slovenia. The penultimate day of action also saw Montenegro and North Macedonia relegated to Division B.

Semi-Finals
Slovenia continued their magic with a 91-79 victory over Belgium to reach the Final - the first time they will be playing in the title bout in 20 years and their first podium finish since third place in 2006.
Slovenia, who led 35-18 after 10 minutes and by as many as 29 points late in the first half, were paced by Urban Klavzar with 20 points and Matija Samar scored 19 points in the victory. Ayuba Bryant scored 20 points for Belgium, who are still looking for their first Final and now hope to win the Third Place Game to take home their first medal.
Slovenia's opponents in the Final at the Polsat Plus Arena in Gdynia will be reigning champs France, who moved into their fifth title game after a 69-57 victory of Greece. France will be shooting for their third trophy.
France raced ahead 18-2 and also led 31-11 early in the second quarter and never looked back leading 47-17 at halftime. Greece could not threaten the rest of the way. Mohamed Diawara, Zacharie Perrin and Mael Hamon all scored 10 points as France's top scorers.

Paulius Murauskas has had a great tournament for Lithuania and he produced another outstanding outing in the 82-73 win over Spain in Classification 5-8 with an efficiency of 34 with 29 points, 11 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocks.
Hilmir Arnarson came up with by far his best game of the competition in Iceland's big 116-87 win over North Macedonia in Classification 13-16 with 30 points on 6 threes, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal for an efficiency of 30. Arnarson had totaled 17 points in his first five games of the tournament.
Czechia won a thriller over Poland in Classification 5-8 - 79-78 - and Jakub Necas did a bit of everything for the winners with 24 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and 1 block for an efficiency of 30.
Izan Almansa had a big game against Lithuania in Classification 5-8 with 23 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals for an efficiency of 27, but it was for naught in Spain's 82-73 loss.
Germany were defeated 67-58 by Israel in Classification 9-12 but Dominykas Pleta was excellent with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 1 block for an efficiency for an efficiency of 22.
