PRISTINA (Kosovo) – Flutra Mehmeti has been named MVP of the FIBA U18 Women’s EuroBasket 2024, Division C after leading Kosovo to the title on home soil.
Mehmeti headlines the All-Star five of the tournament, which also includes Dimitra Eftychiou, Martina Haxhiu, Silan Akbingol and Angelina Ismayilova.
MVP: Flutra Mehmeti – Kosovo
Mehmeti was top 10 in points and rebounds per game, as well as efficiency, and dropped a mean double-double of 20 points with 11 rebounds against Albania in the Semi-Finals.
The MVP came up clutch in the Final with the dagger three-pointer that gave Kosovo an assuring lead.
Dimitra Eftychiou – Cyprus
Eftychiou finished eighth in scoring with 12.0 points per game and also grabbed 7.3 rebounds, too - recording a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds against Malta in the Group Phase, as her nation just missed out on a podium place.
Martina Haxhiu – Albania
Haxhiu put on a defensive masterclass as her nation claimed bronze as she recorded 5 steals, for the second time in the tournament, and 4 blocks. She finished first in rebounding, with a monster 26 boards against Armenia in the Group Phase, and ranked third in efficiency.
Angelina Ismayilova – Azerbaijan
Finishing the tournament as the leading scorer, Ismayilova showed her bucket-getting abilities throughout including a 26-point Semi-Final performance. She also ranked top 10 for steals grabbing 3 on three different occasions.
Silan Akbingol – Azerbaijan
Despite losing in the Final, Akbingol had a great tournament finishing top 5 in scoring and second in rebounding and efficiency, recording a double-double in all but one game.
