RATCHABURI (Thailand) - The Philippines went undefeated for three straight wins in the FIBA U18 Women's Asia Cup 2024 SEABA Qualifiers on May 26, 2024 at the Ratchaburi Stadium in Ratchaburi, Thailand to qualify for the FIBA U18 Women's Asia Cup 2024 Division B.
The Philippines started their campaign in Ratchaburi with a 103-58 victory over hosts Thailand before reaching the century mark in a second straight game in a 100-68 win over Malaysia. They completed the sweep with a 73-37 win over Indonesia on the last day of the competition.
Coach Julie Amos enjoyed a balanced contribution throughout the roster with the likes of young stars Naomi Panganiban and Gabriella Ramos shining brightly among those representing the Philippines.
The young Gilas Women's team makes it back to the U18 Women's Asia Cup for the second time since 2010. They last played in the 2022 edition of the competition hosted in Bengaluru, India and finished in third place of Division B.
The Philippines join Hong Kong, China, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Maldives, Samoa, and Syria as the teams that will be competing in Shenzhen, China from June 24-30 for a chance at being promoted to Division A.
