The Philippines winning streak continues from the SEABA Qualifiers through to the FIBA U18 Women's Asia Cup with a dominant win over Lebanon 89-63.
Coming away from the 2022 edition of the event with a bronze medal, the women from the Philippines are hungry for gold and that illusive promotion to Division A.
Prolific point-guard Naomi Panganiban shot through the roof to finish with 23 points, 7 assists and 8 rebounds inspiring her team to in a triumphant victory.
"It was a great team win, we really executed what we were supposed to do, playing together and our shots really fell at the end," Panganiban said. "My team mates always do a good job finding me so all I have to do is finish, I just attack the basketball and know they have my back to feed the ball."
Gabriella Ramos continued her hot streak with a double-double, 12 points and 19 rebounds with Coach Julie Amos saying that players like Ramos and Panganiban are paving the way for the next generation of Filipino women in basketball.
"All of our players are unselfish, they attack, look for one open person and then rotate, nobody wants to score they want to attack for their teammates to score, and that's one thing we enjoy especially when our shoots are sinking, like all those threes at the end," Coach Amos said. "Players like Naomi (Panganiban) and Gabriella (Ramos), are two very special players, but so is the entire team."
