    Semi-Finals pairing set at U18 Women's AfroBasket 2024

    For the first time in the history of African basketball, two female head coaches - Cameroon's Ange Majolie Lonteu and Nigeria's Juliana Ojoshogu Negedu - reached the Semi-Finals of a major continental competition.

    PRETORIA (South Africa) - And it's come down to four teams. The U18 Women's AfroBasket 2024 are now known following an exciting Quarter-Finals series on Thursday.

    Mali became the first team to stamp their Semi-Final tickets after beating Rwanda 86-57 in Wednesday's first Quarter-Finals series at University of Pretoria.

    In the second Quarter-Final match of the day, Uganda shocked Tunisia 69-53 to record their first-ever Semi-Final slot in the history of the tournament. It was Tunisia's first defeat in the tournament after an impressive 3-0 run in the Group Phase.

    Surprising results continued Cameroon and Nigeria, upsetting household names Angola and reigning champions Egypt.

    While Cameroon beat Angola 65-63 to reach the Last Four of the tournament for the first time, Nigeria - who are making their first appearance in the U18 Women's AfroBasket since 2008 - upset Egypt 66-51.

    The Semi-Finals matchups will take place on Friday, September 13.

    The FIBA U18 Women's AfroBasket 2024m pairings are as follows:

    - Mali vs Cameroon - Local Time: 12:30 (GMT+2) - Nigeria vs Uganda - Local Time: 15:00 (GMT+2)

    Meanwhile, in the Classification Round 9th-12th, hosts South Africa recorded their first win in the history of the tournament by beating Zambia 46-43, while Morocco beat Zimbabwe 93-38.

    The Classification Round concludes on Thursday, September 12 with Zambia taking on Zimbabwe for the 11th-12th place, while Morocco go up against South Africa in the battle for the 10th place.
