    All you need to know: FIBA U18 EuroBasket 2024, Division C

    The FIBA U18 EuroBasket, Division C is just one of 16 exciting youth events taking place all over Europe this summer.

    ELBASAN (Albania) - The FIBA U18 EuroBasket, Division C is just one of 16 exciting youth events taking place all over Europe this summer.

    The tournament will take place in the city of Elbasan, Albania from July 23-28.

    Who is participating?

    A total of seven teams will compete for the title in Division C, following the withdrawal of Monaco. They have been split into two groups - one of four teams and one with three, with the Group Phase as follows.

    Group A: Gibraltar, Luxembourg, Albania, San Marino Group B: Armenia, Moldova, Azerbaijan

    What is the schedule?

    The Group Phase will take place across the first three days with a rest day on July 26. From there, the Classification games begin on July 27.

    The competition will continue in the form of the bracket beginning with the Semi-Finals, until the Final on July 28, with the Classification games also determining each of the eight positions.

    Who were the winners in 2023?

    Cyprus defeated Monaco 68-48 in Baku, Azerbaijan. Stefanos Tigkas stuffed the stat sheet with 17 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals to lead the winners in what was a repeat of the 2019 showpiece game. Teammate Georgios Armakolas had a game-high 21 points along with 7 rebounds.

    As a result, Cyprus were promoted to Division B.

    Former MVPs

    Tigkas' performance in the Final was the icing on the cake as he took home MVP honors leading his nation to a title with averages of 16.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game.

    Roll of honor

    With last summer's success, Cyprus became the first team to win the Division C crown three times, overtaking Andorra and Albania. The latter have their opportunity at becoming three-time winners on home soil.
