BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The field for the FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2024 is all set, as confirmed by the FIBA Regional Office-Asia on Friday, August 2.
The 16 participating teams have been finalized after Qatar and Kuwait completed the cast by finishing 1-2 in the GBA Qualifiers held in Kuwait City.
The two are among those which booked their tickets through the Sub-Zone Qualifiers held over the past month, namely namely India (SABA), Kazakhstan (CABA), WABA teams Iran, Lebanon, and hosts Jordan, and SEABA sides Philippines and Indonesia.
Bannering this year's ensemble are Korea, who will try to defend the championship they won in the previous edition in 2022 in Tehran, Iran.
Korea will be representing the East Asian region along with perennial contenders Japan, China, and Chinese Taipei, plus the up-and-coming Mongolia.
Australia and New Zealand are set to compete as well after finishing as champions and runners-up, respectively, of the FIBA U17 Oceania Championship 2023.
Groupings have been confirmed as well, which can be seen below. The distribution of teams is based according to the FIBA World Ranking for Boys, presented by NIKE.

The FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2024 is set on September 2-9 in Amman, Jordan, where the top 4 teams will qualify for the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2025 in Switzerland.
