BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office-Asia has confirmed the schedule for the FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2024, which will take place in September in Amman, Jordan.

The tournament tips off on September 2 with a busy Group Phase, featuring 8 games each day until September 4, played simultaneously in two venues. Four teams will raise the competition's curtain, with Australia and Mongolia facing off at the Arena Complex and China squaring off against Kazakhstan at the Prince Hamza Sport Hall, both games set for 11:30 local time. Meanwhile, reigning champions Korea will begin their title defense against SABA Qualifiers winners India at 19:00 local time at the Prince Hamza Sport Hall.

    Check the schedule below:

The 16 participating teams will be divided into 4 groups, with the top team from each group earning an outright berth to the Quarter-Finals on September 7. Teams finishing second and third in their groups will aim to advance through the crossover qualification to the Quarter-Finals set for September 6.

Teams reaching the Semi-Finals will guarantee as well their tickets to the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2025 to be held in Switzerland.

The Semi-Finals are set on September 8, with the losing sides from the Quarter-Finals will also be playing in the Classification 5-8 on the same day. The Final will take place September 9, following the Classification 7-8 and 5-6 games and the Third-Place Game. The order of games will be confirmed once pairings are known.

Korea ruled the previous U18 Asia Cup in 2022 in Tehran, Iran by way of a 77-73 come-from-behind win over Japan in a Final befitting of a title bout.

China are coming in still with the most competition titles with 11.
