    Another one for the Emus

AMMAN (Jordan) - Australia ruled the FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2024 following a 96-33 victory over New Zealand in the Final on Monday night at the Prince Hamza Hall.

The Emus jumped to a big lead and never looked back on the way to winning the country's second title in the continental tilt in as many appearances. Australia took home the championship right in their first stint back in 2018 in Thailand.

Jacob Furphy top-scored in the win with 21 points and 7 rebounds. Tournament MVP Emmett Adair finished with 19 points and 5 rebounds, as the All-Star Five members showed the way to complete their six-game sweep of the tournament.

Nash Walker had 12 points. Luke Fennell made 11 points, while Che Brogan added 10 points as the trio provided significant contributions to clinch the crown.

Meanwhile, China took home the bronze medal for the third consecutive time after beating hosts Jordan, 84-63, in the Third-Place Game.

All-Star Five member Zhang Boyuan and Chen Jiazheng scored 22 points apiece as they led the fourth-quarter breakaway toward the podium finish.

Australia, New Zealand, China, and Jordan will all represent Asia in the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup next year, to be held in Switzerland.

FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2024 final standings:

    1. Australia 2. New Zealand 3. China 4. Jordan 5. Korea 6. Iran 7. Japan 8. India
