Head coach Nathan Cooper-Brown, who guided the team to the U16 continental crown last year, will lead to Istanbul for the June 29 to July 7 tournament hoping to reach a podium for a third time following second-place finishes in 2012 and 2014.

"As Australians we always put high expectations on ourselves, and the Crocs are no different. Although we have extremely limited preparation time compared to our friends in other countries, we believe we have a talented group of athletes, coaches, and staff. We are eager to take on this monumental challenge," Cooper-Brown said.

"This team is created through a very thorough and layered process. This considers multiple factors such as character, their ability to be a great teammate, their tactical understanding and technical skill."

Australia have been drawn into Group D with Canada, Egypt and Germany.

Daniels - the younger brother of NBA 2023 Draft first-rounder Dyson Daniels - was named the MVP of the recent Australian U18 national championship. Beauchamp was one of the leading forces in Victoria Metro winning the domestic U18 crown in back to back years, scoring 31 points in Victoria's 96-91 win over South Australia Metro in the Final. Cheesman added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the title game. Also part of the Victoria squad on the U17 team will be Kuany, Pilimai, Sewell and Roor Akhuar.

Dickeson was one of the leaders for the runners-up South Australia team while Cotton was the leading scorer of the tournament.

Cooper-Brown will call his team to a training camp in June before playing a series of pre-tournament friendlies from June 17–28 in Istanbul.
