COLORADO SPRINGS (USA) - USA Basketball have announced the final roster that they hope can win the title at the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2024 - a squad that features the twin brothers Cameron and Cayden Boozer, Koa Peat and AJ Dybantsa.
That quartet is part of an eight-player core that returns from the team that won the FIBA U16 AmeriCup 2023. The other four players to win the continental crown last summer are Caleb Holt, JJ Mandaquit, Brandon McCoy Jr. and Tyran Stokes.
Cameron Boozer - who along with Cayden are sons of former NBA star and Olympic gold medalist Carlos Boozer - was named Most Valuable Player of the FIBA U16 AmeriCup 2023. Peat meanwhile was named to the All-Star Five of the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2022.
Dybantsa is a top prospect an he played for the World Select team at the 2024 Nike Hoop Summit due to his parents roots' from Congo and Jamaica. Stokes is ranked number one in ESPN's rankings for the 2026 high school class while McCoy and Holt are also in the top five.
USA have totaled a 44-0 record in the previous six editions of the FIBA U17 World Cup - winning all six crowns in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2022. The Americans are drawn into Group B with China, France and Guinea.
