    Azerbaijan won the FIBA U16 Women's EuroBasket, Division C competition for the second year running

    Azerbaijan defended their crown against Cyprus while Albania claimed bronze.

    GIBRALTAR (Gibraltar) - Azerbaijan successfully defended their title at the FIBA U16 Women's EuroBasket 2024, Division C beating Cyprus 69-52 in the Final.

    Deniz Gokcol had a stand-out game for the victors in the Final with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists.

    It was Azerbaijan’s Angelina Ismayilova who had the MVP campaign throughout, leading scoring in the tournament to receive the honor.

    These two, along with Leyla Allahverdiyeva and Sitara Abbasova were all part of last year’s campaign completing the back-to-back and wrapping up the nation's first two U16 Division C championships.

    Albania claimed bronze in the Third-Place Game after a game-winner from Emma Cela with 1:25 remaining helped them overcome Malta 43-41.

    In Classification Game 7-8 Irina Nebesnaia dropped a huge double-double with 20 points in 21 rebounds, with an efficiency valuation of 32, as Moldova cruised past Gibraltar 82-49.

    In a close in the battle for fifth place, Lilit Gevorkova was key in pushing Armenia to a 77-71 victory over Georgia as she grabbed 22 points with 12 rebounds.
