    MUNICH (Germany) - The 10th edition of the FIBA Europe Cup is upon us with the Regular Season action set to commence in October.

    Here's a run through some of the questions you have about the competition

    What is FIBA Europe Cup?

    The FIBA Europe Cup was first introduced in 2015 and is FIBA's second-tier competition with over 100 clubs across almost 40 nations having taken part since the inaugural season. There have been eight different winners in eight completed seasons, offering the chance of European success to ambitious clubs.

    There have been many star names competing in the FIBA Europe Cup, as well as the first glimpse at future stars at the start of their careers, and there promises to be more entertainment ahead of the 2024-25 edition.

    Who are the reigning champions?

    German side NINERS Chemnitz lifted the trophy for the first time in the 2023-24 season after they defeated former winners Bahcesehir College in the two-legged Finals.

    No team has won the competition on more than one occasion with the eight winners consisting of two German clubs, two Italian sides and one each from Türkiye, France, Israel and Poland.

    Who is playing?

    There are 40 clubs competing in the Regular Season - 15 gained direct entry based on the Club and Country domestic rankings, while 15 entered via the Basketball Champions League Qualifiers - with all participating teams able to opt into the FIBA Europe Cup should they not qualify for that competition.

    The final 10 spots came from the FIBA Europe Cup Qualifiers including three lucky losers - the additional spots opened up following teams that had opted-in advancing to the Basketball Champions League Regular Season.

    When do the games take place?

    Games are played midweek - typically on Tuesday and Wednesday - throughout the season with the Regular Season beginning in October, while the Finals - played over two legs - take place in April.
