MIAMI (United States) – Bahamas big man Tavario Miller was the top performer of the February 20-21 games during the first slate of the 2025 AmeriCup Qualifiers Window 3. The power forward had an efficiency rating of 30 and was crucial in Bahamas’ 97-74 win over Cuba. In that game, Miller scored 26 points on 12-for-15 shooting from the field. He also had 8 rebounds, a steal and a block.
Brazilian Georginho De Paula followed Miller with a 29-efficiency after another stat-stuffing showing. In BCL Americas play with SESI Franca, he was the only player to be among the top performers in all 3 windows and now with the national team he again proved his worth. De Paula generated 20 points (7-for-7 at the free throw line) with 11 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and a block in Brazil’s 70-61 victory over Uruguay. Iverson Molinar and Eric Romero shined for Panama in their 94-68 over Paraguay to punch their ticket to the tournament. Both players had 28-efficiency ratings. Molinar produced 24 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds and a steal, while Romero added 20 points (8-for-9 from the field), 9 boards, a block and a steal. Mexican wing Gael Bonilla rounds out the group after scoring 17 points in Mexico’s blowout win (107-57) over Nicaragua. The soon-to-be 22-year-old (on February 26th) went 6-for-7 from the field, including 3-for-3 from downtown, and added 5 assists, 4 rebounds, a steal and a block for an efficiency rating of 27.
