MIAMI (United States) - Despite the best efforts of all parties involved, visa issues prevented the Cuban National Team from reaching San Juan, to play their FIBA AmeriCup 2025 Qualifiers game against Puerto Rico, scheduled for 23 February 2025. Under these exceptional circumstances, and in accordance with the applicable FIBA regulations, the game was cancelled, and no points were awarded to either team. Accordingly, the final ranking of Group D of the FIBA AmeriCup 2025 Qualifiers is as depicted below, with the USA, Bahamas, and Puerto Rico qualifying to the FIBA AmeriCup 2025.

Puerto Rico and Cuba finished tied in the third place of Group D with seven points. As per the Official Basketball Rules, Puerto Rico finishes third, due to their 81-73 victory against Cuba on 26 November 2024 in Havana, Cuba.
