ABIDJAN (Cote d'Ivoire) - FIBA Africa on Tuesday confirmed that it will announce the 2025 FIBA AfroBasket host country soon.

ABIDJAN (Cote d'Ivoire) - As the race to the continent's flagship tournament is ongoing, FIBA Africa confirmed on Tuesday that its Central Board will announce the 2025 FIBA AfroBasket host country soon.

After a successful opening window of the AfroBasket Qualifiers in Cairo and Monastir, the  African basketball governing body reiterated that bid evaluations are currently underway as several countries showed interest in the hosting rights for the quadrennial tournament.

The announcement comes after twelve national teams opened their 2025 FIBA AfroBasket Qualifiers campaigns last month.

Eight other teams will begin their 2025 AfroBasket Qualifiers campaigns in window 2 in November.

Those teams are split into Groups A (South Sudan, DR Congo, Mali and Mozambique) and C (Rwanda, Senegal, Cameroon and Gabon).
