BEIRUT (Lebanon) - Bishrelt Metal are no strangers to the qualification rounds of the Basketball Champions League Asia (BCL Asia), and this season, they are ready for another shot at proving themselves on the continental stage.
The Mongolian club made their debut last year, showing flashes of potential but ultimately falling short in the Qualifiers. Despite a valiant effort, they finished with a 1-2 record, unable to advance past the group stage due to a head-to-head disadvantage against NS Matrix Deers. However, the lessons learned from that experience, coupled with their strong domestic performance, make them a team to watch in 2025.
Now, fresh off a dominant run in The League, where they finished with a seven-game winning streak to finish second in the standings with an 18-9 record, Metal are looking to turn that momentum into a deep run in BCL Asia-East 2025. They also recently advanced to the Semi-Finals of The League, with a dominating 4-0 sweep over their opponents.
Can they capitalize on their experience and break through this time?
History
Founded as Tenuun Olziy Metal, the club rebranded as Bishrelt Metal in 2023 following an agreement with Bishrelt Group. Since joining The League in 2022, they have quickly established themselves as one of Mongolia’s top teams, finishing as runners-up in back-to-back seasons (2023 and 2024).
With a passionate fanbase known as the #Metalfam, the team has built a reputation for resilience and toughness. Their runner-up finish in the 2023-24 season earned them a spot in the BCL Asia - East, marking their return to international competition.

Players to Watch
Uuganbayar Tumenbayar is a key piece of Metal’s attack. In last year’s BCL Asia Qualifiers, he posted solid all-around numbers (11.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game), showcasing his versatility. His recent domestic performances only reinforce his importance, highlighted by a triple-double (30 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists) that secured Metal’s spot in The League Semi-Finals.
Enkhbayasgalan Amarbayasgalan is another crucial figure. A strong presence on both ends of the floor, he averaged 6.3 points and 6.0 rebounds in last year’s BCL Asia Qualifiers campaign. His experience with the Mongolian national team, where he has competed in both the FIBA Asia Cup Pre-Qualifiers and Qualifiers, adds to his credibility as a leader for Metal.
Byron Wesley brings elite international experience to the squad. The former FIBA WASL - West Asia winger who played for Al Shorta was named International Player of the Year in Mongolia’s domestic league, putting up an impressive 23.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game this season.
