MINSK (FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup 2018) - Maria Alvarez set a new record at the U17 Women’s World Cup after pouring in 10 3-pointers during Colombia’s agonising overtime loss against Belarus.

MINSK (FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup 2018) - Maria Alvarez on Saturday night set a new FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup record by hitting 10 three-pointers during Colombia's agonising overtime loss against Belarus.

The 17-year-old finished with 35 points, the third highest individual total in the tournament's history behind the 40-point haul by Spain's Angela Salvadores in the 2014 Final and the 36-point outburst by Canada's Nirra Fields in the inaugural event in 2010.

Alvarez knocked down triple numbers 9 & 10 to force overtime as Colombia recovered from a late 67-61 deficit before coming up short in the extra period.

Here are highlights from her record-setting performance.
