TORONTO (2016 FIBA U17 Women's World Championship) - Canada have handed 18 players a potential ticket to Zaragoza with the likes of Alyssa Jerome and Hailey Brown strong favourites to secure their respective places.
Of those who have received invitations to a tryout for the forthcoming FIBA U17 Women’s World Championship, the duo look to be the standouts. They are joined by the other 10 players who made history last year as Canada climbed to the top of the podium at the FIBA Americas U16 Women's Championship.

There will be a new face calling the plays as Jodi Gram has been installed as head coach of the side and she can't wait to get started.
"We're excited to get this group together," stated Gram. "It will be a competitive camp, building on our 2015 gold medal performance and preparing to take on the world."
Following the tryout, the group will participate in a five-day training camp from 9-14 June at the University of Toronto - Mississauga. Those who make the final roster will then head to Spain for an exhibition tournament, prior to the start of the competition proper in Zaragoza.
Canada have been drawn in Group A with Latvia, Nigeria and Japan.
