    DR Congo, Gabon set to battle for solo ticket for 2023 Women's AfroBasket

    Three-time Africa champion, Democratic Republic of Congo will put be up against youthful Gabonese in a double edge as both sides gun the the only slot in Zone 4 AfroBasket Women Qualifiers in Yaounde

     

    YAOUNDE (Cameroon) - Three-time Africa champion, Democratic Republic of Congo will put be up against youthful Gabonese in a double edge as both sides gun the the only slot in Zone 4 AfroBasket Women Qualifiers at the Palais Polyvalent des Sports, Yaounde, Cameroon. 

    The two-leg qualifiers is set to hold on Friday (March 24) and Saturday (March 25).

    Gabon, who has the tag 'under dog', must be at their best against AfroBasket women veteran side Democratic Republic of Congo who have had fifteen previous appearances with 8 podium finish which includes three gold medals.

    Gabon last featured in the African continent biggest women championship in 2015 in Cameroon with a 7th place finish.

    They will look for her third appearance while Congo, who finished 6th in 2019 in Dakar, Senegal will attempt to be back Africa greats as the race to Kigali Arena beckons.

    Whoever gets the better of each will the seven already qualified nations to the 2023 Women's AfroBasket which will serve as Paris 2024 Pre-Olympic Qualifiers.
