No stopping Kuwait Club even as unbeaten Gulf League streak reaches 13
JEDDAH (Saudi Arabia) - The streak continues and Kuwait Club have no plans of slowing down whatsoever.
JEDDAH (Saudi Arabia) - Kuwait Club are now halfway through the goal they have set following another dominant win in the FIBA West Asia Super League (WASL) Season 2, Monday night.
Even without one of their leaders in Marcus Georges-Hunt, the reigning Gulf League champions beat Al-Ahli Jeddah on the road, 110-92, to stay on top of Group A with a 3-0 record.
"We want to finish in the no. 1 place in our group," reiterated head coach Peter Schomers during the postgame press conference at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Sports Hall.

Kuwait Club are one of the only four unbeaten teams in the ongoing season, but the others, namely defending FIBA WASL champions Manama and West Asia League sides Shahrdary Gorgan and the current sub-zone titlist Al Riyadi, can't say that they are as perfect as them.
By dealing the Saudi champions their third defeat in as many games, the Kuwaiti powerhouse has extended their winning streak in the Gulf League to 13, which dates back to Season 1.
For starters, Schomers and Co. copped the inaugural sub-zone league crown via a 10-0 sweep. They won all six of their games in the Group Phase first, before finishing off Shabab Al Ahli-Dubai in the Semi-Finals and then Manama in the Final. Both playoff series were best-of-3.
Now they have started Season 2 with three straight wins. It began with a 108-92 beatdown of the debuting Muharraq on opening night, then an 85-62 conquest of Al Rayyan on the road.
Then, of course, Monday's big victory. wherein Moh Hasan starred once more as he finished with a FIBA WASL career-high 36 points after a fiery 8-of-12 shooting from beyond the arc.
"Good win first of all. That's what we wanted to be after this game," said Schomers. "It helped that Moh shot I think, eight out of twelve of the three. I made some tough threes. Put them on pressure. And once we got up by eleven points, I think they had problems staying in the game."
They have three more games left in the Group Phase—the soonest being a rematch with Muharraq at home on January 8—and the target remains very much the same for Kuwait Club.
"We take it game by game. Now we're 3-and-0. We had two away games, and that's valuable. We're going to have two home games and one away game; hopefully we finish 6-and-0," Schomers said.
