BEIRUT (Lebanon) - A new season of the FIBA WASL-Gulf League is just around the corner, and that would also mean an opportunity for Manama to go back-to-back.
The ball club from Bahrain is coming in as one of the favorites, especially after making history by emerging as the inaugural champions of the upstart pan-regional tilt.
Now, we once again take a look at what made Manama into the powerhouse that it is right now and what could be expected from them in the upcoming FIBA WASL joust.
History
Manama, a club that also has teams in various sports, including football, was founded in 1946 and rose as one of the most important figures in the growth of Bahraini sports.
Much of their success comes from basketball. They are the most successful team in Bahraini Premier League history, having won a total of 24 championships. They have also conquered other domestic competitions, such as the BBA Cup and the BBA Super Cup.
2023 alone saw Manama accomplish their first ever 'treble' in team history when they won the FIBA WASL, the Premier League, and the Khalifa bin Salman trophies.
Manama has also competed in international club tournaments. Just last September, they took part in the prestigious FIBA Intercontinental Cup in Singapore.
Emblem
Just recently, Manama unveiled their new logo, moving on from the classic shield-like crest that they had used for a long time by going with a more modern emblem.
Homecourt
Manama plays its home games at the BBA Arena, also known as the Zain Basketball Arena.
Path to FIBA WASL
Manama secured a return trip to the FIBA WASL by conquering the Bahrain Premier League anew. They swept rivals Al Muharraq in the best-of-3 series to annex the championship.

Players to watch
The team of Coach Linos Gavriel will be parading practically the same group that clinched the FIBA WASL title in Dubai last June, headlined by young star Mosti Rashed.
The Final 8's fourth-best scorer with 19.5 points per game will be joined by key cogs Ahmed Haji, Hasan Nowrooz, and Mohammed Hamooda, to name some.
Reinforcing Manama are Travin Thibodeaux and Sir'Dominic Pointer.
